I learned the game as a young child playing with my younger brother and father. Around my 10th birthday I received a gift: a “Hoyle Poker” DVD. This was mid 2000s. I was able to play against real people, of course only for play money chips! Each day you were allotted several thousand starting chips and away you went. I was hooked. I still remember having each ‘deposit’ have the goal of reaching the 9-handed $200/$400 tables where I could spin it up! A few times I did, as I remember telling my friend in school that I had over $1M.

Fast forwarding to September, 2015: I’m in the airport heading home after some solo travels. I had burned through all my money saved from working odd jobs throughout ages 16-19. Now it was time to go back to working, right? Back to the real world. I felt the strangle hold it had around me, without any options in sight. The only option I figured I had was Poker.

When I got home, I logged into Twitch.tv and found Jaime Staples. He was a young guy living the dream, playing Poker for a living! My goal was simple: emulate what he is doing.

However, this did not last long, as through his Twitch chat I met a viewer named Tom who explained to me that I needed to play Cash and not Tournaments — I would improve much faster this way. Thanks Tom!

I started playing 2c/5c [5NL] Pokerstars ZOOM and away I went. I had no other interests back then, so Poker was all that I would do. From September 2015 - January 2016 I had made it from 5NL-50NL, and by January 2017 I had made it to 200NL.

2018 marked 1000NL and 2019 5000NL.

From 2019-2025 I played Mid-High stakes online cash, from NL1000-NL10000 including some shots at NL20k/NL40k. Heads-Up, short-handed and 6-max. During this period I met my now wife and began a new journey of levelling myself up away from the tables. Despite meeting her in the UK, where I was born and grew up, she is from India and was only there for her studies. After taking a holiday/trip to see where she grew up, I realized that I wanted to move there when the holiday blues never faded.

2023-2025 was an incredibly busy period away from the tables, including getting married, moving to India, building our new home, and welcoming our first and second babies. Despite my results staying relatively strong, I honestly found it very overwhelming and difficult to manage poker alongside everything else, especially with the lack of sleep from the two newborns! So I decided to step down from 1kNL+ to 500NL-5000NL.

This is where I currently am till today.

I have been coaching Poker through 1-1 lessons since 2016. It has been an equal passion of mine alongside playing. Eventually that grew into becoming an Elite Coach at RunItOnce where I was contracted to provide high-end strategy content.

I absolutely loved producing the content and the RunItOnce viewers loved it just as much! I quickly became one of the platforms top coaches.

Adding on to this, I developed a custom Aggregational tool to help me study. The first of its kind. It allowed me to very quickly understand strategy, micro and macro, in ways and speeds I had never experienced before. I felt well and truly ahead of the curve.

My private 1-1 students were consistently purchasing this tool which I was, of course, very humbled by and happy with!

So, I had good experience making videos, a lot of poker knowledge to give, and a product I wished to share. That’s when the idea of KnowYourPoker was formed, slowly starting with YouTube in February, 2025.
